Eat Your Vegetables

Guess what I had for lunch today? NO, it wasn't a Big Mac. I had chicken, rice and VEGETABLES! Apparently someone was listening to my sermon today and took me at my word!
When we think about the influences in our lives and the choices that we make, it becomes clear to us that we often choose those things that are most pleasing or convenient for us. They may not be the best things for us, but we tell ourselves that we are too tired, too rushed to do anything else. We may even tell ourselves that we deserve what we choose. But no matter how much we like or dislike it, the truth is our choices and the things we allow to have influence in our lives are the things that shape us.
Ask yourself a critical question: what am I allowing to have influence in my life? Music, TV, Movies, the news...? Friends, family, co-workers...? How much time to I spend with God, allowing Him and His Word to shape my life? What does my life really reflect? The values of the world or the things God would have be to be and do?
As hard as it can be, we know what we need to do. I need to stop at this point before my lunch gets cold. Peace.
