The Armor of God

Today we talked about Ephesians 6:10-18 and Paul's instructions to "put on the armor of God." We learned that we have an enemy who is out to "devour us" (1 Peter 5) and that he will not stop until he brings about our destruction. As a result, God has not only sent His son to free us from sin and death, but He gives us the tools necessary to resist the ploys of the devil and live victorious lives.
Where are you the most vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy? Are you easily persuaded by things you see? What about what/ who you listen to? Are you fearful, especially about things that are beyond your control? Do you have 'habitual sins' that seem to have an iron grip on your heart and life? All of us struggle with the issue of sin and who to avoid temptation and overcome our fallen nature. It is not a topic we like to talk about, but that does not change the reality of the fight we find ourselves in. I want to encourage you in the battle for you heart, mind and soul. God has given us His righteousness in His Son, Jesus Christ. No matter what areas you feel weak in, God can give us the strength and courage to face the enemy, knowing that Jesus has already conquered our foe. It is up to us to simply "suit up" and fight this fight of faith to the glory of God. Peace.
