Obviously, if you keep up with this blog, you have noticed that I have not shared any thoughts here in several weeks. Needless to say, life gets busy and the things that need to get done take priority over lesser things. I wish that were true when it comes to the things of God.
We usually make time for the things that are pressing; the things that need to be done now and if they are not, will create bigger problems in the near future (laundry, grocery shopping, etc.). Usually they are the menial taskes of life. And it is in our response to the "tyranny of the urgent" that the really important things usually get pushed aside. (Time with God, with family, etc.)
Make it a point this week to focus on the "big stuff". Let the laundry pile up for one more day...go out to eat and do the grocery shopping tomorrow...take time to focus on the things that cannot be replaced with a trip to the market. We will always find the time to do the lesser things. And in the process, maybe we'll appreciate all of them a little bit more.
