When faced with the difficulties of life, we each have a choice: we can either "take flight" and attempt to flee the pain or consequences of our actions, or we can "take flight" by relying upon the Holy Spirit to guide, direct, comfort, and encourage us to change after the example of Christ. The latter is obviously the harder choice, as it requires us to own up to our need for God and His power in our lives.
But that is what God would want us to do. Beyond any difficulty in life, beyond any disobedience to His will, God wants us to return to Him when we need Him and receive His love and grace. Life will have its difficulties and there are always consequences to our sin, but God wants to teach us and grow us through every circumstance in life. And the only way He can/will is when we choose to be shaped by His Spirit, for His glory and our eternal good.
When faced with the difficulties of life, take flight in the direction of your heavenly Father! Peace.
