Being Content

Today we talked about what it means to be truly content in life. We are constantly bombarded by influences that would try to convince us that we are either not content or that if we simply obtained one more thing, we would be. In reality, God's Word teaches us that in order to find contentment in this life, we need to get our priorities in order: placing God and others before ourselves, serving others, not for selfish gain, but out of a sincere desire to help them. When we do these things, we will find that we can be truly thankful for what we have and, as a result, will find a new willingness and ability to share with others.
Contentment is found, not in what we have, but in how we relate to God and others, using what we have been given in order to make a difference in the lives of others.
Begin by thanking God for what you already have and then pray for God to bring about any necessary changes in your priorities, so that you can find real contentment.
Peace.
