Hearts and Hands

God is so very good. Even in the most trying of times, God is present with His caring heart and presence. Like many others, I have seen difficult situations, both personally and through my relationships. In all, God has been faithful to me and those I love and care about.
There are many in our world who scoff at my confidence in God, especially in the face of real tragedy and horror. I can understand that. Perhaps my experiences are not as shocking as those of others. But I still hold to the reality of God's grace and mercy, even in the worst of times. I have seen it in others and in the ways they respond to the needs of others and I cannot deny that their motivation comes from knowing that very same compassion that has been expressed to them. And I believe that it is God who initiates it all; moves our hearts and hands to lift a heavy burden; to write a song that lifts the heart or expresses the pain and in some way brings relief. It is God; in the soul and in the song. And in them, I know, that God is so very good.
